carpentry service.
Trim work is called
"casing" or "casework" by the contractors who actually do this kind of
work. Basically, trim work is the trim that encases doorways, trails along the tops and
bottoms of walls, and also a few other specific places like around hearths, fireplaces,
windows, and stairs. A trim work remodel is one of the most underrated and
underappreciated remodels in home improvement today. Many people don't realize or
recognize how damaged their trim has gotten over the years, and replacing this new can
give a room or a whole house a completely new look and feel without breaking the bank.
Finish carpentry is an important part of any remodeling or construction project. It
demands a lot of fine skills, specific tools, and a precise understanding of design
theory. Since finish carpentry is what people focus on when a project is completed, it is
essential that the woodwork, trim work, and moldings appear visually pleasing and
competently done. Though finish carpentry is typically the last undertaking of any home
design, it is also the very thing that catches everyones eye, so dont be hasty
or stingy in completing these last touches of elegance to your home.

Tips & Warnings
Paint-grade woods are those of insufficient quality to properly accept a stained finish.
Poplar and other paint-grade woods are used quite extensively when staining is not
required.
Oak, walnut, cherry and other stain-quality woods vary enormously in price but are
generally all significantly more expensive than paint-grade materials.
